Aaron joined KRQE News 13 in October 2014 as an anchor/reporter... anchoring the news on 2 KASA FOX. He's excited about covering news in the Land of Enchantment.
Before arriving in Albuquerque, Aaron spent eight years at KLAS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada. He covered the hustle and bustle on the world famous Las Vegas Strip, from the Stardust and New Frontier casino implosions to high-end mega-resort grand openings such as Aria and The Cosmopolitan. Aaron was the station's lead reporter on O.J Simpson's 2007 arrest and conviction for kidnapping and armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room heist. He earned an Emmy award for anchoring live breaking news coverage of a dramatic rescue as a group of window washers dangled in danger from the 35th floor of the Vdara Hotel on the Strip. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences also recognized Aaron with another Emmy for his documentary "The War at Home" on issues facing veterans.
Aaron previously held the weekend anchor position at KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas, covering everything from hurricanes to Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a friend on a hunting trip. As weekend anchor at KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas, Aaron anchored live breaking news coverage of the crash of Space Shuttle Columbia in 2003.
In 1999, Aaron was a public radio foreign correspondent based in London. He also moderated public affairs programs on San Antonio radio and television. On the international front, Aaron has interviewed many distinguished foreign dignitaries including former British prime minister John Major, former Israeli prime minister Shimon Peres, and former South African president F.W. deKlerk.
Aaron interned in the business news division of CNN International in London, as well as KENS-TV in San Antonio. He also held a coveted internship with the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC in 1998.
Aaron is a 2000 graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio and Boston University International Programs.
