Business is slow in Hollywood right now with the writers and actors on strike, but that hasn't slowed down Jonathan Bennett.
Bennett has two programs airing on Food Network over the next couple of months, which allows the charismatic host to do on screen what relatively few get the opportunity to do -- be himself.
He's having a great time, and viewers are reaping all the rewards.
The first production he's hosting is Battle of the Decades, a new series in which chefs of different decades partner up to create something edible (elevated!) with dishes and gadgets of the time.
It's a perfect match for Bennett, who has been firmly planted in popular culture since his breakout roll in Mean Girls in 2004, starring with Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, and a host of others who have been influencing the industry ever since.

Exclusive: Food Network has cooked up its latest Hot List – identifying the food personalities up-and-coming culinary “rock stars” in the content space.
It marks the second list for the Warner Bros. Discovery cable network after publishing its inaugural list in December 2021.
The company said that this year’s list includes a self-described ‘potato queen’, a self-designated ‘kitchen witch,’, restaurateurs and restaurant incubators.
The list includes Serving The Hamptons star Brogan Wu; chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur Esther Choi, chef and culinary manager Fariyal Abdullahi, chef and adventure seeker Gabriele Bertaccini, chef and restaurateur, Julian Rodarte, Michelin-trained chef and social media personality Poppy O’Toole, pastry chef and social justice activist Paola Velez, restaurateur and community activist Jeremy McBryde and chef, restaurateur and Tournament of Champions competitor Shota Nakajima.
The list will be rolled out on Food Network’s social platforms next week.

The next iteration of Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America” will find social media influencers and viral personalities putting their culinary skills (or lack thereof) to the test. “Worst Cooks in America: Viral Sensations” will premiere with a supersized 90-minute episode on Sunday, Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on Food Network and discovery+, TheWrap can exclusively reveal.
Chef Anne Burrell, who has been with the series since its inception in 2010, returns and is joined for the first time by Darnell Ferguson to lead culinary boot camp, where they “take on kitchen chaos, food fumbles and culinary confusion of these trending competitors.”
