- D B Colbert is a non-binary playwright and actor, known for the Off-Off-Broadway play, C.O.A.L. (confessions of a liar),a non-binary protagonist represented by four different people and lauded for their performances around the country and in NYC, as Hedwig/ Tommy Gnosis, in John Cameron Mitchell's and Stephen Trask's smash hit- Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This roll won DC the Barrymore Award for best actor in a musical and DB's stand out performances were also recognized with local awards in Milwaukee, Sarasota, Philadelphia and Lexington, Kentucky. As a writer, DB's play C.O.A.L. was winner of the AracaWorks competition and a finalist for the O'Neill Playwrights Festival, Critics Choice in the Appalachian Festival of Playwrights and Plays, and selection for the Fundamental Theater Project's Mass Rhetoric Reading Series. DB has written the pilot episode for the Web Series in development, Life On Top, and seeks to develop work for non-binary protagonists.
