She comes to NewsNation from Boston, where she was a weekend evening co-anchor and general assignment reporter for WCVB Channel 5.
Berlie joined WCVB-TV in 2016 from KSDK-TV in St. Louis where she was a weekday morning anchor. Prior to that, Berlie spent five years as a weekday morning anchor at Hearst's KETV-7 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Berlie holds a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University. She earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting from the University of Nebraska.

- On December 20, 2023, she revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. On December 21, she started the treatment. As of January 15, 2024, she completed second round of chemotherapy and shaved her head after her hair started falling out. She donated her hair to an organization that helps kids who are fighting cancer.
