- Richard's earliest experiences with horror films was when he was very young and saw JAWS. He knew that Jaws didn't care if you were a kid or not, he'd eat you anyway. He grew up watching a show called Movie Magic, about special effects, and it inspired him from an early age to want to become a special makeup effects artist. His first real exposure to horror was while watching that show, and while explaining how they make a person appear to be ripped in half, the scene from George A. Romero's Day of the Dead. To this day, Creepshow (especially The Crate) is one of his all-time favorite horror films.
