Pallavi is a costume designer working in theatre and film.
After her BA in Fashion design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, India (NIFT) in 2011, she worked in film and TV costumes in Mumbai, before moving to London for her MA in Costume design for Performance from LCF.
She moved back to India in 2015 where she works out of her studio and manufacturing unit in Andheri, Mumbai. She makes and exports costumes for musical productions in London. Grease, The Little Mermaid, Hairspray to name a few.
As a designer in the film industry in Mumbai her first costume design project was for Girish Malik's 'Band of Maharajas' and his next film 'Torbaaz'.
This year she's designed costumes for musicals Chota Bheem and Peppa Pig live and Aadyam's A Few Good Men directed by Nadir Khan, Untitled 1 by Danish Hussain and Gaa Re Maa by Anahita Uberoi for Prithvi Festival and Good Mourning by Deven Khote.
She's worked on live performances for corporate shows including companies like The World Cruise, JSW, Boston Consulting Group and Aditya Birla Group.
Her work as a Costume Supervisor includes Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Vikranth Pawar, Aadyam's Loretta directed by Sunil Shanbag, Disney's Aladdin directed by Shruti Sharma.
Apart from these she has designed costumes for,
Dinner with the MacGuffins (2009), Importance of Being Earnest (2010) and Pygmalion (2011)., Alban Berg's opera Wozzeck, Shakespeare's The Tempest and costumes being exhibited at 'Shakespeare: Greatest Living Playwright', Victoria and Albert museum),ObamAmerica, at Theatre503. Cyphers, 'Great Expectations' and 'Henry V' directed by Marcus Bazley. And in Brussels, Ulla van Brandenburg's 'Baisse-toi montagne, lève-toi vallon'.
