Chelsie Dias is a producer based in Los Angeles, with an unrelenting passion for developing and producing high-concept films that are both commercial and socially relevant. A graduate of Smith College with a B.A. in Art History, Dias embarked on her career as a producer at a Boston-based startup founded by Peter Olson (Harvard Business School and former Random House CEO). There, she became Head of Production after designing a high-volume video production model that led to the opening of studio locations across the U.S. and Asia.
Her love of the visual arts eventually brought her to Los Angeles, where she honed her production experience on narrative filmmaking and film finance. Dias launched Cinematic Venture Partners, a film finance company which leverages insights from data science and machine learning to analyze a film's ROI and invest in film, and began producing short films. These award-winning short films led her to a producing position at The Weinstein Company in their highly competitive Short Film division and Lexus Short Films program. During her tenure, she released four films that were nominated for hundreds of awards, including "GAME," which won two Oscar-qualifying awards at Raindance and NYICFF, a Cannes Bronze Lion, and Vimeo Staff Pick.
As an alumna of the Torino Film Lab and Red Sea Lodge programs, she has solidified her status as an emerging producer with an unwavering passion for her craft, and most recently started her own film production company, Utopian Pictures.
