Rumi. M. Arystanbekova is a mixed race American film producer and actress. Arystanbekova is of Kazakh, Japanese and Singaporean descent.
Arystanbekova lived in many different countries as a child due to her parents' work and understands many languages. She is multilingual and is fluent in English, Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin and conversational Russian.
Arystanbekova has always been hugely passionate about being an action movie producer, director and an actress as well as the art of storytelling since she was a child, despite growing up in a family more predisposed to engineering and science. Her father was an aircraft design engineer and her mother has a PhD in Chemistry. The latter influenced her decision to attend the University of San Francisco, from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Computational Mathematics. During her first year of college, Arystanbekova felt she needed another challenge so she joined the United States Army, Special Operations, Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations (Airborne) and trained in JFK Special Warfare Training Centre and School in Fort Bragg North Carolina.
After university in order to launch her film production and acting career, Arystanbekova made the strategic decision to enter the modelling world because she thought it was the most efficient way to build her platform in the entertainment industry. She was a featured model for the US magazine Skinnie, FHM Turkey, Slovenia and US Maxim in 2013 and was featured on the cover of Elegant Fashion Magazine in 2016.
Arystanbekova is a first time Executive Producer of Big Bear (2017) and also of The Three Way which is in pre-production. She is also Co-Producer of the movie Lion's Den (in Pre-Production) and Men Are Perfect (2017).
Her first movie Big Bear (2017) was successfully sold to Netflix. It's now on live stream on Netflix and it is also available to watch on iTunes and Amazon.
Arystanbekova also had a role as a guest actor for the short film All Men Are Thieves (2013) and has been cast in roles in The Three Way (in Pre-Production) and Men are Perfect (in Pre-Production).
Meanwhile the CIA/Special Operations action film, Born Classified a story inspired by true events and storyboard by Arystanbekova is in development. The final draft of the book also written by Arystanbekova has been finished. The film script was written by Stevie Long who wrote several episodes of the TV show Sons of Anarchy.
Arystanbekova's hobbies include driving race cars (Formula 3 and GT cars) and practising Kendo (Japanese Samurai sword fighting).
