The Flash season 4 has had a perplexing mystery going on in the background: what’s the identity of Jessica Parker Kennedy’s character who keeps turning up? The young woman appears to know more about Barry Allen and his friends than she lets on, after first giving the Scarlet Speedster some advice at his wedding to Iris West in last year’s “Crisis on Earth-x” crossover.
We’ve been promised that the reveal of the so-called Mystery Girl’s identity will happen very soon and what’s more, once we know the truth that definitely won’t be it for the character, as she’ll apparently go on to have a major role in season 5, which was recently commissioned. Here’s what showrunner Todd Helbing told TV Line:
“Everyone will get an answer to who exactly The Mystery Girl is, and how she plays into not only this season but next season.

With The Flash currently on a four week break, fans have some spare time to ponder the ongoing mysteries of the season. One of the most perplexing actually isn’t that key to the plot so far, but it has peaked viewers’ interests all the same. And that’s just what is the identity of Jessica Parker Kennedy’s mystery girl who keeps popping up in Barry Allen’s life?
To refresh your memory, Parker Kennedy first showed up in “Crisis On Earth-x: Part One” as a waitress at Barry and Iris’ wedding. She seemed weirdly interested in the pair and overjoyed to meet the groom. In the second half of season 4, she’s turned up a couple more times, on these occasions meeting other members of the Star Labs gang instead. And again, she always seems kind of giddy to encounter our heroes.
But who is she, exactly? The...

Ever since she first appeared at Barry Allen and Iris West’s wedding last fall during the Crisis on Earth-x crossover, pretty much every Arrowverse fan has been left scratching their heads as to whom the mystery girl played by Jessica Parker Kennedy (Smallville) may be. And, to further complicate matters, she’s popped up in a few episodes of The Flash in the time since.
From the look of things, many of us have been able to deduce that she’s probably a time traveler, most likely having some sort of relation to Barry and Iris – and that she’s possibly a speedster herself. As such, the prevailing theories are that she’s either their daughter, Dawn Allen, or their granddaughter, Jenni Ognats.

When a show such as The Flash remains on the air for four seasons or longer, it’s expected for the titular character to not only grow as a hero, but as a person as well. As such, an enduring love interest comes along with that. Clark Kent found his match in Lois Lane back when Smallville was still on, and Barry Allen has done likewise with Iris West on this particular series.
Now, some of you reading this may not really care about this specific aspect, defiantly sitting on the side of the fence opposite those “shippers,” but, let’s face it, relationships are a part of life. Given that, you’re going to need something to pad an hour of television because it can’t be just heroes punching bad guys from start to finish. After all, this isn’t Avengers Assemble.

In last week’s episode of The Flash, Enter Flashtime, we saw three different speedstars working all out to try and stop a nuclear bomb from going off. Eventually it was left to Barry to stop the bomb, but before he left Jay Garrick, who is the original Flash from DC comics, said that he was […]

The Flash‘s Mystery Waitress (or, as listed in scripts, “Mystery Girl”) has served up nothing by questions since she first appeared in the wedding portion of this season’s crossover event. And she will continue to do so a short while longer.
Following a press screening of this week’s episode, “Run, Iris, Run” (airing Tuesday at 8/7c, The CW), executive producer Todd Helbing was tight-lipped about the intermittently appearing character’s identity, instead only saying that the assorted fan theories he has heard are “pretty fun.”

Iris West has developed a catchphrase she often says to her husband: “We are the Flash.” In an upcoming episode of the hit CW show though, that’s going to become more true than usual, as Barry Allen’s other half will temporarily acquire his speedster powers, meaning that it’s now her turn to save Central City from supervillains.
Yes, it’s finally happening, folks. While we’ve known for a while that Iris would be suiting up, it was only this week that our first look at her costume was revealed and the reaction to it so far has been somewhat divisive. For one, many are taking issue with the colors used here, with fans hoping they’d see her in a more comics-accurate outfit, something with a bit more red and yellow for instance.
And while we won’t be getting that on the show, digital artist...

Yesterday brought us our first look at Iris West’s superhero costume, ahead of “Run, Iris, Run” – an upcoming episode of The Flash that will see Barry’s wife temporarily gain speedster powers. In the process though, it might have provided some further evidence of a widely-believed fan theory; that Jessica Parker Kennedy’s mystery character is a descendant of Barry and Iris.
The key is the purple and white colour scheme of Iris’ costume, which contrasts with the typical red and yellow outfits worn by the rest of the speedsters who have worked with Team Flash. However, the costume does have its design in common with the outfits worn by two female speedsters from the comics. For one, Dawn Allen, Barry and Iris’ daughter, who inherited her dad’s abilities along with her twin Don. The second is Jenni Ognats, another Allen from the far future who’s part of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

With Barry in prison, the arrival of who everyone thinks is Dawn Allen, and Central City being without its main hero, The Flash is making use of all its characters and Iris West-Allen will be donning a speedster suit later this season. While it's a temporary gig -- for the aptly titled episode 16 of season 4, "Run Iris, Run" -- we have to ask, why is Iris suiting up? How is Iris able to suit up? We have a few theories.

The Flash delivers another patchy episode that fails to hit the spot. Spoilers ahead in our review...
This review contains spoilers.

4.11 The Elongated Knight Rises
Disclaimer: my local CW affiliate was having some ridiculous audio issues tonight, where chunks of the episode sounded like they were being broadcast from a very small and very busted Am radio in 1973. If I missed any details, this is why.
Anyway...
I...really don't know what to make of The Elongated Knight Rises. I wasn't a fan of The Trial Of The Flash and as long as Barry remains in prison, I feel like everything is a little bit tainted by the laziness of that particular episode. But this week was certainly, um, different.
I've run hot and cold on Hartley Sawyer's Ralph Dibny.

Barry Allen was forced to trade his red suit in for a prison uniform in the latest chapter of The Flash.
But with our hero locked up, it's up to the rest of Team Flash in The Flash Season 4 Episode 11 to keep Central City safe.
I will admit that I was a little afraid going into this episode wondering how this was going to play out. Last time Barry was Mia, it wasn't long until Team Flash needed to get him back pronto.
But it felt like "The Elongated Knight Rises" learned from The Flash Season 4 Episode 1 This time around we get to see the team function on their own which is a big plus in my book.
Even though the show is called The Flash, I like the idea that these characters can stand on their own. If they always fall apart without Barry, it takes away their empowerment!

Think back to the first episode of the recent Arrowverse crossover event “Crisis on Earth-x,” when the cast of The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl came to Central City to attend Barry Allen and Iris West’s long-awaited wedding. On the big day, the Scarlet Speedster encountered a quirky waitress played by Jessica Parker Kennedy.
Though she only appeared very briefly, the mysterious character caught the attention of fans. Due to her fixated interest on Barry and Iris’ wedding, some think she might be a descendant of the couple from the future. She could have inherited her dad’s speed and nipped back in time to witness the marriage of her parents. After all, she did say that their wedding was “one for the ages.”
Thankfully, the mystery soon looks to be cleared up, as Kennedy has confirmed that she’s filmed at least one more episode of...
