Reid began Artistic Gymnastics at the age of four and competed for seventeen years. He won the New Zealand National Junior Title in 2006. He also went on to win the Australian National Pommel Horse Title in 2014.
In 2012, Reid was one of the 506 people who helped break the Guinness World Record for "Skinny Dipping". This took place at the Rhythm and Vines Music Festival in Gisborne, New Zealand.
