Yoann Mylonakis is an Edinburgh/Scotland based composer, pianist, dancer and tutor.
Originally from France where he pursued music and dance studies from a young age, he graduated from the Paris Conservatoire in piano performance. After finishing a Master's Degree in Digital Composition and Performance at The University of Edinburgh in 2017, he recently graduated from The University of Montreal with a Certificate in Musical Writing.
As a film composer, Yoann collaborates on projects pursuing a fantastic journey into international festivals, being selected, nominated and awarded in the world most important competitions. Among these, in 2016, Transit Zone (2015) was semi-finalist at the Student Academy Awards (Oscars®) and won many prestigious awards around the globe. In 2016, his work on short film Lemuria (2015), led him to be nominated in the Composer category at the BAFTA® Scotland New Talents Awards. In 2017, short film Tomorrow (2017) has been selected at the Cannes Festival Short Film Corner and Yoann reached the semi-final stage at the Los Angeles Cinefest in the Best Score category. In 2018, he shares the Best Soundtrack award at the Scottish short film Festival for Close to the Bone (2017). In 2019, co-producing short Without (2019), the film obtains the Bronze Award at the Sound and Vision International Film & Technology Festival in NYC; Yoann is also nominated for the Best Original Score for Short Crystal Pine Award at the International Sound & Film Music Festival in Pula/Croatia.
