Juan Jose Hernández is a Hispanic-filmmaker born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of sunny California. Always interested in art, he began his conquest the day he was able to put crayon to wall. His passion in visual storytelling began in drawing and illustration and was later introduced to the world of Theatre and Cinema.
In his high school years, he was heavily involved in the Drama Department of his school. He began at the bottom of the chain of Stage Crew and was managing the crew by the end of his sophomore year. Hernández then went off to Woodbury University in Burbank, California where he is a current senior studying Filmmaking. Hernández has worked closely with Woodbury University on multiple productions and has been featured on the university's homepage and the President's Annual Newsletter. He loves working on-set and enjoys contributing his part with a passionate crew.
He decided to venture out onto new territories and became Sound Manager, Assistant Production Designer, and Assistant Director. Hernández even dove into the world of acting by obtaining multiple supporting roles, as well as the lead role in his last production of senior year. A true "Renaissance Man", Hernández has the ability to wear multiple hats on a production, positions that range from an extra P.A. to Gaffer to Director.
He's worked on the filming of Pedro E. Guerrero's Architecture Exhibit in Hollywood, has interviewed designers, artists, and producers, such as Charlotte Huggins and Kathryn Hagen, and has even filmed the 125th Anniversary of the Pasadena Masonic Lodge. His skills also extend into the post-production region of filmmaking, which include Editing and Sound Design.
Juan Jose Hernández's goal as a filmmaker is to create and help other's generate visual stories that are both compelling and unforgettable.
