The Last O.G. star Tracy Morgan and Aldis Hodge have come aboard the Taraji P. Henson-led comedy What Men Want, the gender-flipped iteration of the 2000 Mel Gibson-starring film, What Women Want from Nancy Meyers. Adam Shankman is directing the pic which centers on a female sports agent (Henson) who has been constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. Like the original, she gains the power to hear mens’ thought and she is able to shift the paradigm to her advantage as she races to sign the NBA’s next superstar. The film is scheduled for release January 11 via Paramount Players.

Was it important to make your follow-up film to Baskin in the English language?
I wanted to make the film available for a wider audience and to test myself with a different language movie. I thought it was a fun thing to do.
How do you describe Housewife? What would be your perfect pitch line?
Man, I had this crazy fu*ked-up dream last night! Do you want to see it?

Turkish film-maker Can Evrenol introduced the tale about “madness and paranoia” during Frontières at Bifff.
Having already taken audiences on one descent into hell, Baskin writer-director Can Evrenol looks set to do the same with his next feature Housewife.
The film was introduced for the first time during Frontières at Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Bifff). Speaking to Screen, Evrenol noted that while it’s similar thematically to Tiff hit Baskin, there are also marked differences.
“It’s almost a continuation of my work, the recurring themes of sexuality, family, social claustrophobia and nightmares,” he explained. “This time it’s from a female’s perspective and it’s going to be in the English language. If you say Baskin is like my Carpenter and Stephen King homage, this is going to be Argento and Fulci.”
Housewife is centred on Holly whose mother murdered her sister and father when she was seven. 20 years later and...
