Christiane zu Salm
After finishing school, she completed training as a publishing clerk at S. Fischer Verlang in Frankfurt am Main from 1985 to 1988, with a traineeship in New York. She then studied business administration in Munich until 1992. While still studying, she began her professional career at the Matuschka Group in Munich. In 1993 she became a consultant to the management of UFA Film und Fernsehen GmbH in Hamburg. In 1994 she moved to Berlin as head of merchandising and music production at Grundy UFA TV Production GmbH. In 1995 she married Ludwig Prinz zu Salm-Salm. The marriage ended in divorce in 2002.
From 1995 to 1997 she became head of the children's program at UFA Fernsehenproduktion GmbH. In the same year, 1997, she founded the music publisher Media Branding GmbH as managing partner. In 1998, Kofler became managing director of the music broadcaster M-TV for the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, before she was appointed CEO of Euvia Media AG in 2001. From 2001 onwards she also became managing director of Euvia Travel GmbH, the travel channel sonnenklar.tv and chairwoman of the management of the competition channel 9Live Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG. Within a few months, 9Live was able to become a profitable private broadcaster thanks to a controversial competition program.
After selling her TV company shares to ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in September 2005, she resigned from the companies. In February 2006 she became head of the advisory board of the German branch of the Spanish company FON for the development and marketing of nationwide wireless LAN stations. From April 2008 to November 2008, she headed the Cross Media department as board member of Hubert Burda Media. In her private life, she was in a relationship with the media manager and Premiere boss Georg Kofler. They became parents to a daughter together in 2004; The couple married in 2010. From 2007 she held a seat on the board of directors of the Swiss media group Ringier AG. From 2008 to 2012, Kofler was a member of the Monopolies Commission. She has been the owner of the Berlin-based Nicolai Verlag since February 2016.
