Richard Encarnacion: From Teenage Filmmaker to Wall Street Tycoon
Richard's journey into filmmaking began in 1994 when his father bought an RCA VHS camera. From that moment, he was hooked. He started by filming events at his mother's church, but his passion for filmmaking quickly grew. By the age of 15, Richard was fully immersed in shooting short films and documentaries, spending every spare minute practicing with any camera he could get his hands on and devouring every book on screenwriting and filmmaking.
By sixteen, Richard had already created over 100 short films. In 2003, inspired by the stories of Robert Rodriguez and New Jersey's own Kevin Smith, Richard started writing "Five Easy." This project marked a pivotal point in his career. In 2004, after numerous rewrites and 25 rejections, Richard finally convinced established actor Nicholas Testa-who had worked with Ridley Scott and Barry Levinson-to help bring "Five Easy" to life. At just 19, Richard became the youngest Hispanic filmmaker in America, breaking the previous record set by Rodriguez.
That same year, Richard launched Silent Mills Studios. Despite submissions to film festivals and a lack of major backing, his dedication to filmmaking never wavered. He then took an unexpected turn, joining the US Marines. After his service, Richard attended film school in San Diego, further honing his craft.
Richard's filmography includes directing "Five Easy," "PS," "Fooling Music Video," "Break It Down," "The Suspect," and the documentary "TJ and USA Border." He has edited and assisted with hundreds of films and projects through platforms like dotstudio.
In 2015, Richard's career took another leap as he became the media manager for the Emmys. Today, Dr. Richard Encarnacion is a trailblazer, the first Hispanic to dominate both the film and finance industries. As a Wall Street banker and a burgeoning American tycoon, Richard continues to grow his profile, exemplifying the power of perseverance and passion.
Richard Encarnacion is not just a name; he is a brand dynamic force in two of the world's most competitive arenas, reshaping narratives and breaking barriers.
