Michael Evans(LXIV)
Michael Evans , has degrees in Fine Art and Education from Kingston and Bristol Universities in the UK. He was an art instructor and Fine Arts Coordinator for West Vancouver and an Adviser for UBC's Department of Education. He maintains a studio and continues to paint and exhibit his work.
He has held numerous leadership positions in community and provincial Arts and environmental organizations . Including President of West Vancouver Arts Council . Director of Performances BC pavilions at Expo 86 and in 2014, Chairman of the Coalition to Save Eagleridge Bluffs.
Michael has published several articles in "Arts and Opinion " and the Vancouver Sun . In 2004, he worked with Mary Bissell to make the CBC documentary Naked.
In 2014, he worked with Tony Mirza as Production Designer and Associate Producer for the short film Earthlickers, winner of the 2014 Crazy 8's film contest and three Leo awards . Michael recently completed a full length feature film script " Syllabary" that has been submitted to CBC Drama as a proposal for a feature movie that can be expanded into a series. In 2016, he is working on two full length film scripts " Paradiso " and " Infinity. Infinity , a love /war story based on Canada's involvement in the war in Afghanistan is completed and is now ready to move into production. Michael is seeking experienced directors and producers for this project.
