After retiring from dancing, she assisted her husband Ronald Hynd while he was director of the Bavarian State Opera Ballet.
She was a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet (UK).
She began taking ballet classes at age 4. She received a scholarship to study at the Sadler's Wells School (now The Royal Ballet School), and joined the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet in 1950.
