Gia Rigoli

Gia Rigoli is a filmmaker and producer with a primary focus on narrative features. At 22-years old, she produced her first feature film, Rock Steady Row, which world premiered at the 2018 Slamdance Film Festival where it took home the Narrative Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for Best Narrative Film and was subsequently distributed by Gunpowder & Sky. Gia's other feature credits include Salton Sea and Birds Without Feathers which are distributed by Epoch Films and Synergetic Films, respectively. Her films have screened at over 50 festivals worldwide.
Gia graduated with a BFA in Creative Producing from Chapman University where her senior thesis film, Pasajeros en Trance, was a Student Academy Award Finalist. She is currently developing a feature length documentary (mentored by Michael Apted) focusing on the Arizona twin cities where she grew up on the US/Mexico border as well as numerous narrative feature films in various stages of development.
Gia was selected as a 2019 Berlinale Talents participant and a 2019 Project Involve Producing fellow where she was awarded the Sony Pictures Entertainment Fellowship. She is currently co-producing her first Virtual Reality Interactive experience, Frontera, that was selected to participate in the 2019 Biennale College Cinema VR and Venice Production Bridge. Gia works as a freelance producer in Los Angeles and has produced dozens of short films, music videos, and commercials including branded content with Gucci, Garage Magazine, and VICE. Gia hopes to continue making films that focus on issues facing Latino community internationally and domestically.
