Nicholas West(III)
- Director
- Editor
- Producer
From a young age Nicholas West had a keen interest in telling stories. He first started experimenting with film making with short comedy sketches him and his school friends filmed on their smartphones. After leaving secondary school, Nicholas signed himself up for a Film and Media college courses which confirmed his love for the art of telling stories through film. After leaving college he went on to train in editing as he had fallen in love with the way the edit can tell and change the story.
In 2015 he started working on a screenplay which was to become Moral Conflict. Being his own project Nicholas felt the need to direct it himself which pulled him out of both his edit suite and comfort zone. Because of this he found a new love, working with a crew and actors. West stressed over the importance of making a drama that was unashamedly British, gripping and innovative and achieved that by adapting his original idea into an eight part web-series which was released in late 2016 for free on YouTube. Focusing on making everyone's job as easy as possible was a big focus for him and getting his actors to deliver their performance with as much passion as he himself had for the project became a big reason why Moral Conflict was a huge success with it's audience despite it's low budget.
In January 2017 he started his newest project "More Ham Than Good", which will explore the problems and benefits of the UK drug policy and ask if there's a better way to reduce the harm of drugs.
