Rick was considered for a Grammy this year ..for his hit song "Smile". He started on this path at 5-years-old with piano lessons inspired by my father, Dario, a world-renowned tenor and actor from Italy. As a teenager, He found the guitar an explosive instrument; one to which he transitioned easily and better showcased his natural talent. . Growing up in Santa Barbara, the hot venues of Los Angeles were only hours away. He took his band to Gazzari's where his band, Smoke 'n' Burn, won the Battle of the Bands of Los Angles ,No easy feat considering the talent he was up against. This propelled him towards greater opportunities including touring with noted artists such as Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Iron Butterfly, Tower of Power and more. His first band's namesake freshman album, "Smoke 'n' Burn" continue to delight fans with songs such as "Lesthair", "Mad Scientist" and "Precious Time" becoming, in their own right, hits and cult classics.
Today, Today he is proud to have written "Smile", the featured theme song in the heartwarming Daniel Zirilli film, "Black Beauty" (IMDb, 2015). Another of his songs, "Silver Machine" (IMDb) is also featured in an upcoming Daniel Zirilli film, "Time Rush" (IMDb). "Time Rush" is an action-packed movie showcasing his rockin' style.
