Supermassive Games are taking The Dark Pictures Anthology to VR with the exclusive PSVR2 title Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. Coming Spring 2023, Switchback VR will take players for a “multi-sensory ride through ghost-ships, witch-hunts, vampire nests and the lair of a sadistic killer on a fast paced, sinister rollercoaster from Hell”.
As you might have guessed, Switchback VR revisits the locations from the first season of The Dark Pictures Anthology, where you’ll meet up with each entry’s antagonist, requiring you to make quick decisions in order to survive. Along the way, you’ll discover how your story connects with each of these worlds, and make sense of the nightmare.
“We are hugely excited to bring the most gruesome of The Dark Pictures horrors to VR” said Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games. “The Anthology enables us to explore many different horror subgenres with variety in monsters and locations, and...

Bandai Namco has another horror game on the way, from Supermassive Games! Take a look at the first trailer for The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan...
If they are not making an anime game, Bandai Namco is making a game that will haunt our dreams. The next game under that umbrella is from Until Dawn developer, Supermassive Games, and will be the first time a game from their horror roster will be available on Xbox One and PC. Their game will be known as The Dark Pictures Anthology and will be a series of standalone cinematic horror games where every playable character can and will die, based on your decisions. Thus, creating a near-limitless array of outcomes that no one will see coming.
The first of the series will be The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan and the trailer kicks off the series at a terrifying pace...

The team behind PlayStation 4 horror adventure game “Until Dawn” are working on a series of stand-alone, cinematic branching horror games called “The Dark Pictures Anthology,” Supermassive Games CEO Pete Samuels announced Tuesday.
The first in the series, which is coming to PlayStation4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, is called Man of Medan and is set to launch next year.
“At Supermassive, we have a passion to deliver powerful cinematic stories and we’re following on from titles like ‘Until Dawn’ and ‘The Inpatient’ by telling new horror stories that we expect the fans will want to play,” Samuels writes. “Each game in the series will feature a brand new story, setting, and characters. ‘The Anthology’ format gives us the opportunity to tap into a variety of horror sub-genres. We’ve identified 39 that we’d love to represent in the Anthology, but that would take some time!”

Developers: Supermassive Games and Sony Computer Entertainment. Director: Will Byles. Writers: Graham Reznick, Larry Fessenden, Justin Villiers, Will Byles and Pete Samuels. This writer and gamer is continuing to catch-up on some of the exclusive releases on the PS4. Until Dawn, a horror survival game, was originally released just over a year ago (August 25th, '15). Developed by Supermassive Games and Sony Computer Entertainment, the game plays out much like a horror film as you control up to eight characters. Your decisions decide on whether each character survives. This game also allowed this player to use "motion controls" for the first time. This experience had its highs and lows. As well, the game introduces you to a psychoanalyst. He will question you and out your fears. The more you tell him, the scarier the game becomes. Meanwhile, you will need to search under every rock, to determine what happened to...

Ps Vr title Rush of Blood notwithstanding, developer Supermassive Games currently has no plans for a direct sequel to 2015 sleeper hit Until Dawn.
When quizzed about the possibility of a continuation in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Supermassive’s Managing Director Pete Samuels conceded that there’s “a lot of speculation about what we’re doing and what we’re working on right now,” though he did confirm that the developer “[is] not working on Until Dawn 2 at the moment. We’re working on other things.”
Interestingly, Supermassive’s publishing deal with Sony has now ended, meaning the studio’s future titles could go multi-platform. And though Samuels remained coy about the exact nature of those “other things,” it seems safe to assume that the developer will remain in the realm of cinematic, narrative-driven games.

While nothing is set in stone, developer Supermassive Games has revealed that it welcomes the concept of Until Dawn downloadable content.
In an interview with PlayStation LifeStyle, the studio’s Executive Producer Pete Samuels touched base on the idea of releasing more content for the acclaimed PS4 horror title, admitting that there would be some challenges to overcome before such post-launch content could come to pass.
“The underlying ‘truths’ in the story are pretty sacred,” Samuels explained. “If an expansion of any kind required us to change a truth then we wouldn’t be happy doing it. We get asked a lot for a happy ending for one character in particular. We can’t see how that could work without breaking some important truths. I’m not ruling out Dlc, we just haven’t yet found the right context for it.”
