Welcome to Creators on the Rise, where each week, we find and profile breakout creators who are in the midst of extraordinary growth.
Every single day for the past ten years, Dutch YouTuber Enzo Knol has posted a vlog.
He posted his first one in 2013. He was 20 years old then, and not doing so well.
“I was at a pretty negative place,” he says. “I wanted to break free from it–and I knew it was something I had to do myself.”
His older brother Milan Knol was already making videos, and had recommended Enzo check out YouTube. So, on June 9, he uploaded Enzo Knol Vlog #1, a two minute and fourteen second video where he sits in his bedroom and chats to the camera. That video now has more than 5 million views, making it one of the most popular on his channel, but at the time, it didn’t take off.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 took a flying leap off the Carlton Hotel pier here in Cannes today as part of Sony’s now annual pre-fest promotional stunt to launch a summer title. At the same time, a new scene from the Sony Pictures Animation/Rovio Entertainment sequel was released online.
In Cannes, the irked birds and scheming green piggies banded together this afternoon to fling a stuffed hatchling from the dock using the birds’ signature slingshot. The stunt echoes the themes of the film which sees a new threat emerge that puts both Bird and Pig Island in danger and forces the foes to unite against a common enemy. On hand in Cannes were Josh Gad who voices Chuck as well as director Thurop Van Orman and producer John Cohen. Also in town were local voice talent...

Exclusive: After hatching a promotional niche with The Angry Birds Movie on the eve of the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, Sony will be back on the Croisette next week to launch the global campaign for its sequel, The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Taking place on Monday, this year’s stunt is the latest in a savvy move Sony began with the first film (which went on to gross $352 million worldwide) and has continued since as a means to stake out prime real estate a day ahead of the fest’s official opening. The strategy is to hit during a lull in which the entertainment media is on the ground prepping for the main event — and looking for photo ops.
The Angry Birds 2 stunt that begins at 3 Pm local time on May 13 will see the titular irked avians and their longtime pig adversaries become frenemies and join forces to defeat a common foe,...

Divimove, the Berlin-based multi-platform network that represents YouTube superstars like vlogger Enzo Knol, beauty creator NikkieTutorials, and martial artist Flying Uwe, has appointed a new chief executive.
Tobias Schiwek (pictured above), who currently serves as chief digital officer of German production company Ufa, will assume the top role on Jan. 1. He will succeed Divimove’s trio of co-founders and managing directors, who have opted to step down from the executive suite: Brian Ruhe, Philipp Bernecker, and Sebastiaan van Dam.
The new leadership at Divimove is part of parent company Rtl Group’s goal of supercharging its various multi-channel network properties -- including Los Angeles-based StyleHaul and Stockhoml-headquartered United Screens -- with greater synergy. Next year, Rtl will launch a new unit combining all three networks to be led by Sean Atkins, the former MTV chief who was tapped as CEO of StyleHaul earlier this month. In this capacity, Schiwek will report to Atkins.
