Isn't nature glorious?! East London hobby photographer Martin Le-May captured an incredible image of a weasel riding a woodpecker into battle during the great Weasel-Squirrel-Chipmunk War of 2015. You can almost hear the furry creature shouting: Onward, noble steed! To glory!" Fine, we made up most of that scenario, but that is a real photo (minus John Travolta, of course) of a weasel riding on the back of a woodpecker and it's making the rounds on the Internet. But unfortunately, the situation that created the image is much less magical. The weasel was trying to kill the woodpecker. It all started when birder and wildlife photographer Jason Ward tweeted this photo taken by amateur photographer Martin Le-May of Essex, England. Le-May recently went on a nature walk hoping to see a green woodpecker for the first time.
