Mina Gorelick is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actress. She is the daughter of filmmakers Mahsa Ghorbankarimi and Alexander Gorelick. Mina grew up speaking a number of languages in a multicultural family. As an actress she is known for her role in the thriller Luciferous, for which she received a Special Jury Award at the Festival Internacional de Cine Fantastico de Torremolinos, Spain.
Mina identifies as biracial. Her father is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, originally from Belarus. Her mother is Persian, originally from Iran.
From a young age, Mina studied dance, piano, and was immersed in musical Theatre. She was introduced to the entertainment industry when she was six. At the time, she voiced two Sesame Street short films.
Mina grew up in a family of filmmakers, constantly surrounded by talk of cinema, script-writing and visual effects, learning from her parents, her grandparents who operated an animation studio, and from her aunts and uncles who are film directors.
Mina's language of choice is English, but she is also fluent in Farsi. Additionally, she studied French and Russian in early childhood. Having been raised with friends and family from around the world, Mina has been exposed to many accents, a wide repertoire of sounds, pronunciations and dialects. As a result, she developed a keen ability for vocal articulation and the ability to learn and reproduce various accents.
Mina grew up in a judgment-free atmosphere. She believes people have a right to freedom, to choose their own path in life, and to peacefully live and let live. Mina loves to travel and has visited many countries throughout the world.
She is a member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada.
