Charles Leopardo
- Director
- Writer
- Editor
Inspired by the stop-motion animation work of Ray Harryhausen and Willis O'Brien, Leopardo created his own monster flicks at the age of twelve using
his father's 8mm home movie camera. Pursuing a career in
art, Leopardo earned both BFA and MFA degrees and went on to exhibit
work in SOHO galleries as part of the New Realism movement of the
1970's-'80's. He eventually found painting to be a limiting
medium inadequate for the expression of narrative content; so he
returned to his first love, cinema, and learned the craft of
screen-writing. He has written a number of feature-length and short
scripts, with several optioned by production companies, and Leopardo also placed as a quarter-finalist for the prestigious Nicholls Award. Expanding
into producing and directing, Leopardo has completed a fifteen minute
short narrative film titled "Flashback", which he plans to expand into
a trilogy of related movies.
