Jay Tiarks
- Actor
- Writer
A native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jay Frederick Tiarks (b. 1962), was
fascinated by history at a young age. Growing up in Harlan, Iowa, he
became good friends with writer-director Scott Allen Nollen and
actor-musician Todd "Dane" Jacobsen, with whom he collaborated on
several film projects during the late 1970s and early '80s.
Cast for his physical size as well as his penchant for boisterous, off-the-wall humor, Tiarks, known as "DeLowd-Low" to his pals, was usually game for anything, including risking life and limb to contribute to the success of a production. Recently, during a reunion with Nollen and Jacobsen, his "return to the cinema" was discussed.
