Sue Moxon
- Composer
Sue Moxon is a classically trained composer, multi-instrumentalist and
teacher.
Her music has a great deal of diversity which allows her to work on many different projects from film and multimedia productions to educational music for instrumental groups and soloists.
Sue has composed for short films such as Die Violine [Cannes Film Festival - short film section 2014], Site 281 [trailer 2013] , The Suicide Projects [2011] and multimedia projects including Broken - Harmony House [2002]. She has also created Moxon Music - which focuses on music for performance and education and includes catalogs of graded works for String Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble and Marimba groups.
Influenced by many forms including ambient, world music, minimalism, classical and jazz styles, Sue has also found inspiration through life experiences as well as various art forms. Composers and performers that have inspired and influenced Sue's music are as diverse as her music itself - they include Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Phillip Glass, Keith Jarrett, Esbjorn Svensson Trio, Ravel, Debussy, Bach, Brad Mehldau, Avishi Coen and Shai Maestro.
Sue performs on various instruments including Hang and Handpan, Piano, Cello, Classical-style Guitar, and Drone Flute. In live performances she prefers small acoustic environments where she creates atmospheric and often improvised sound-scape experiences for audiences.
