- Ron was raised in the Pacific Northwest where he fell in love with the beauty of outdoor life while living between two major mountain ranges in the land of rivers, lakes, and inland ocean waterways. As a leader in school he soon found himself on the end of a microphone in a number of venues. An athlete, award winning student, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, and other experiences soon led him to a life of adventure.
After college he started a business and began a family, staying married until his girls were off to college. During those years he again became active in public affairs and soon found himself on the end of a microphone once again, announcing racing events, hosting various events, and getting involved in conservative causes and political affairs. He was a frequent guest on television and radio shows as well as a featured editorialist in the leading local newspaper. He was approached to run for political office on separate occasions. He produced a variety of TV and radio spots for different types of projects. He also spent several years as a volunteer firefighter while operating a business and raising a family.
Ron's love of radio and media led him to settle in Las Vegas in 2011 and before long he was deeply immersed in a variety of film and television projects, filling numerous rolls on both sides of the camera, from feeding the crew to acting, creating, writing, directing, and producing. His efforts didn't go unnoticed and he was soon asked to develop a project for Fox International in their Spanish television division despite the fact that he didn't even speak much Spanish! At the same time he was asked to help create and direct a project for television called theCRASHERS, a reality/documentary mix that is based out of Las Vegas. At about the same time Ron was approached by his Motown friends to help them put together a live show for the Las Vegas Strip. That was in addition to the other local projects that he'd been helping to develop or produce in the preceding years. All the while Ron had been running an internet based business that he'd owned since 1999, finally prompting a bit of a timeout to reflect on which direction to continue.
He took a break while considering his options and in doing so developed a deep passion for his Good Guys CARRY Guns project. The GGCG project is geared toward educating the general public about the positive aspects of gun ownership while protecting the 2nd Amendment from those who are out to destroy it. The Good Guys project is now Ron's primary focus and is moving into a rapid stage of development after more than a year and a half of research and preparation. Ron believes that it may prove to be one of the most important film projects ever created. The concept has been incredibly well received and has created a great deal of enthusiasm for those within the community who've been made aware of the project.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Publicist for Ron O'Brien
- Due to his gymnastic and public speaking skills, Ron spent several summers traveling the USA as the Director of summer cheerleading camps. His coaching skills led him to an invitation to coach the USA Olympic development gymnastic team. He carried those skills to his love of snow skiing. He was soon hired as an instructor to prepare for the professional freestyle skiing circuit.
That dream ended when the Western USA had no snow for most of the winter! Ron later went on to race motocross (motorcycles on dirt) in addition to his other sports interests. As an avid outdoorsman from youth, he was a trained and certified firearms enthusiast at the age of 14 and spent decades enjoying hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Other favorite sports include snowboarding, water skiing, golf, rock climbing, and bicycling (street and mountain).
While living in what some consider 'the wildland fire capital of the world' (Shasta County, California), Ron served many years as a volunteer firefighter, both medical and firefighting, doing what he considered one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life. Once embedded, those skills, and the duty to act, never truly leave one who has served in that capacity. Don't be surprised if you see Ron running toward trouble while others are heading the other way...
