- In the Philippines, Atticus did not speak much Tagalog as he was raised speaking English at home. He was a bit of a mimic when it came to watching TV; especially American TV programming, which made his Filipino accent virtually disappear. This got Atticus teased a lot in elementary school for finding it difficult to pronounce basic Tagalog words. When his family moved to the U.S., Atticus pleaded with his mother to constantly speak to him in Tagalog, so wouldn't forget his native tongue. Atticus speaks Tagalog much more in adulthood, living in the U.S., than he did in his childhood, while in the Philippines.
- Atticus's son Brady shares the same middle name of Charles. Atticus also gave Brady the nickname of Smokey, when he was only a few months old. Brady had recently found his own love for acting as he has performed in a youth production of "Bye Bye Birdie" as Harvey Johnson, and as Elisha J. Whitney in "Anything Goes.".
- Atticus is also a voice over actor and can be heard as the announcer for a number of McDonald's TV ads, targeting the Asian/Tagalog market. The ads are in Taglish (mixture of Tagalog and English).
- Atticus is the middle child and only boy. Growing up in the Philippines, he and sisters were given what were considered very unconventional names for the 70s - Jeanne Harriet (older sister); Atticus Charles; Janice Valerie (younger sister).
- Atticus is the son of two performers. His mother, Rachelle, was a vocalist in the Philippines; and his father, Ariel, was a theater performer and plays a number of instruments, which includes the guitar, flute and ukulele. Both parents divorced in the 80s and are now happily remarried.
