Nitzan Levinson has directed numerous award-winning short films, commercials, music videos and is in current development of her first, narrative and environmentally-focused feature film, Flowing Earth and her film production company LunAzul Films.
Some of her accolades include, The Cheech Marin Scholarship, Bridges-Larson Grant, Sundance Ignite program, David M. Milch Foundation scholarship and the AFI scholarship.
Nitzan was born in Mexico City to an Argentinean mother and an Israeli father. She spent her childhood between Mexico City and Jerusalem and at the age of 13, relocated to Los Angeles.
At 16, she studied ballet and theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy. After a knee injury and an acting career in LA, at 18, Nitzan began writing, directing and producing her own short films. She studied film directing at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Four years later, she came back to LA to attend AFI Conservatory's directing program.
