James Lorcan

James was born in Paddington, London, England of Irish heritage. He has
dual English and Irish nationality. James was raised in Deptford,
south-east London and was a professional child actor, most notably
appearing in the West End world premiere of Bugsy Malone at Her
Majesty's Theatre directed by Mickey Dolenz of the television hit
series The Monkees. In this production James appeared alongside Steven
Mackintosh, Lee Ross and Catherine Zeta Jones. After several
commercials and voice-overs, James pursued different lines of work.
James returned to acting, training at the world renowned Rose Bruford
Theatre College in Sidcup, Kent.
James was nominated for Best Actor 2013 -2014 by Richmond-Upon-Thames Arts Council in London for his portrayal of Christy in Dermot Bolger's play From These Green Heights directed by Linda Sirker.
In 2014 James appeared in Jimmy Walters' production of Julius Caesar as Casca, Titinius and Lucius which was staged at The Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London, the first play ever to be staged there before transferring to The Chelsea Theatre for a successful two week run.
In 2015 James portrayed Geoff in Susan Hodgetts' play Forget Me Not at the Tristan Bates Theatre and Major Blake in Proud Haddock's production of Noel Coward's We Were Dancing. Throughout 2016 and 2017 James has toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland in Sonia Friedman's production in association with Ambassador Theatre Group of the multiple Olivier award winning West End musical Sunny Afternoon, the story of the British rock band The Kinks, directed by Edward Hall and Katherine Hare, under the musical supervision of Elliott Ware and the musical direction of Barney Ashworth.
