- Composer
Alex is a composer for Film, Television and Video Games. He grew up in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk and started playing the piano at the age of 9. He soon picked up the guitar and played in bands throughout his teenage years, getting experience playing live and recording in the studio. His interest in music production sparked there, right in the studio and he decided to go to Leeds College of Music to study BA Music Production. It was at this stage where he became very interested in music for film. He grew up admiring the scores to Jurassic Park, the Land Before Time and Star Wars, but at Leeds College of Music he decided that he wanted to make a career out of writing music to films. He took all of the music for image classes at Leeds College of Music and upon graduating, he moved to Valencia, Spain, to be part of the inaugural masters class for Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games at Berklee College of Music under the tuition of Laura Karpman and Andy Hill. He graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Master of Music. In summer of 2013 he recorded and conducted an original composition at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Brothers Studios with a 47-piece orchestra. His first short film as a composer, Happy Face (2014), was directed by Marc Juvé and premiered in Barcelona in June 2014. He went on to compose music for Tumbleweed (2014), was directed by Emilio Roso and Sisterhood of the Red Garter (2015) directed by Richard Connew. He has also worked on the music department for a number of other productions as an Orchestrator and Midi Programmer.
