Danielle Gianakas
- Writer
- Producer
- Script and Continuity Department
Born a creative child in 1990, Danielle pursued all things that offered
compelling, imaginative stories. Whether they were the video games she
played with her older brother, the books she read outside of school,
the pretend creatures she invented with her friends, or the science
fiction/action films she found herself watching, Danielle loved a solid
story, and not surprisingly, she discovered her calling to be a writer
at the age of thirteen (2003).
While she loved movies, she didn't acquire a love for cinema until 2006 when she took her high school's Film Criticism course. She didn't acquire a desire for filmmaking until the middle of her college career.
Danielle enrolled as a double major in Classics (Ancient Greece and Rome) and English Language/Literature at the University of South Carolina, where she studied Arabic, Ancient Greek, Latin, Literature, and Creative Writing. On her own, she enhanced her love and knowledge of cinema and filmmaking as she began her pursuit of a career in writing (2008-2010).
Danielle transferred from the University of South Carolina to North Greenville University (2010), where she focused on studying English and writing. She enhanced her skills as a poet and fiction writer, studied French, and took up leadership rolls as the President of NGU's Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society (Alpha Kappa Rho), Poetry Editor of NGU's literary magazine The Mountain Laurel, participated in NGU's Film Club, and took part in planning events such as NGU's biannual Poetry Night. She graduated from NGU in May of 2012 with a B.A. in English and immediately started working on her career as a freelance writer and screenwriter.
She wrote and produced her first script months after graduating from NGU, and she thereafter began the process of writing numerous scripts, short stories, and a novel.
