Mutilator 2, writer/director Buddy Cooper’s long-awaited follow-up to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (pick up a copy Here), is ready to make its way out into the world. The movie even screened at Joe Bob Briggs’ latest drive-in Jamboree event back in October, and received an “audience favorite” award there. And yet it still hasn’t secured a distribution deal. Cooper confirmed this on Facebook, where he wrote, “We are still searching for distribution. It might help if a few fans asked their favorite streaming service or theater when they would be showing Mutilator 2. If enough people show an interest, I feel like a distributor would be willing to help get it out to everyone.“
The fact that Shudder hasn’t swooped in to release this as a Shudder Original is shocking, given that they’ve not only had The Mutilator on their streaming service, but even had...

Shooting Clerks: Biopic about the making of Kevin Smith’s groundbreaking film to premiere this month
Kevin Smith, who has recently been approved with a SAG waiver to make his new movie The 4:30 Movie, is one of the biggest pioneers in independent filmmaking in the 1990s. He joins Robert Rodriguez as someone who was able to make a feature film on a minuscule budget with basically no crew on a do-it-yourself mentality. Both directors would gain acclaim for their efforts as both Clerks and El Mariachi won over fans at film festivals and started a revolution of non-studio productions. Smith would go on to carry over the characters Jay and Silent Bob onto his other films, including their own spin-offs, and even made two sequels to the one that started it all.
It’s hard for aspiring filmmakers not to be inspired by the groundbreaking indie film, and in a bit of poetry, indie filmmakers have made a movie about Kevin Smith and the making...

Hold The Fort, Coming Soon to Kickstarter, Casts Julian Smith: "Lucas and Jenny are getting settled in their new home when Jerry Klein, the Hoa president, knocks on their door. He invites them to the neighborhood's annual “Equinox Party.” Ready to embrace suburban life, Lucas excitedly accepts.
But this is no ordinary party...A banner hangs at the clubhouse's entrance: Welcome to the Equinox. Please don't die. There are talks of a portal to hell, dangerous mythical creatures, copious amounts of Moonshine, and a legendary gun wielding hero, McScruffy.
Lucas, thinking this is all a joke, hesitantly mingles with the other party guests when the inevitable happens.
The portal to hell opens...
And the first monsters attack."
Veteran YouTuber Julian Smith will star in the film, which is aiming for a September production start date. Hold The Fort is a Horror Comedy from award winning writer/director William Bagley...

Written by Kate Lyra, Director, Latc — Latin American Training CenterAmidst the flurry of controversy surrounding its selection, “Little Secret” (“Pequeno Segredo”) screened for the press in Rio de Janeiro.
“Some people are afraid of the ocean,” says Heloisa, (Julia Lemmertz in a perfect pitch performance). “But I feel safer on the water than on dry land.”
Marcos Bernstein’s masterful narrative, directed by David Schurmann, sets the ocean as symbol and metaphor, weaving it through the interlocking stories of three families — and three mothers — forever joined by a secret and a child.
It is the ocean that both separates and connects places as exotic and unlikely as the Amazon and New Zealand, an ocean that protects and sustains us like amniotic fluid.
“Kiwi” (as New Zealanders are endearingly known) Robert Lockett (Errol Shand) has crossed the ocean to find work as a petrochemical engineer in Manaus, capital city of the...
