He created the Rock Garden of Chandigarh, a 25-acre site in northern India that contains more than 2,000 statues. He used broken crockery, iron foundry discards, fluorescent tubes, bicycle frames, bottles, shells, cooking pots, and smashed bathroom fittings to create his landscape.
