In the late 1920s, Fred V. Blair moved from Ohio to Florida, investing in real estate in the Tampa-Saint Petersburg area. He also was involved in the commercial development of the area, becoming a prominent businessman of the area. He was involved in aviation matters, building and operating at least two small airports, and also with motion pictures at the Sun Haven Studios on Weedon Island, near St. Petersburg. Although they had planned to produce up to twenty-four pictures, the studio only distributed four before the U. S. Internal Revenue Service closed it down due to back taxes.
