"Zombieland" co-writer/executive producer Rhett Reese took to Twitter to vent a bit upon hearing the news that Amazon will not be moving forward with the series. While reviews were definitely mixed, he seemed to place the blame on fans of the film who refused to embrace the concept.
Here are Reese's comments:
Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved.
I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence.
Anyway, we did our best, and we're very proud of our team.

If you've been following along on the "Zombieland" TV series Facebook page, they've been posting pretty cool graphics for several of the show's rules of survival, and we have an exclusive early look at Rule #3 right here!
We're not quite sure why Dread Central was selected to debut Rule #3, but given our penchant for potty humor around these parts, it does seem to fit us pretty well! You'll find it below, and if you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to visit Amazon Instant to watch "Zombieland."

The "Zombieland" pilot is still running on Amazon Instant in hopes of being turned into a full fledged series, and the show's Facebook page has posted a pretty cool graphic illustration of "How to Kill a Zombie" that you can check out right here.
In addition, all of the "Rules" of the series are getting their own graphics (you can see #19 below), and we're exclusively premiering Rule #3 tomorrow morning so be sure to check back then.

As with many new TV shows and movies these days, the question “Why?” comes to mind frequently. Why do we need another sequel, why do we need a reboot, a prequel, a TV show, etc.? The answer, of course, is money and branding. Of course, skepticism rightfully reigns supreme when any new project comes to light that features our favorite characters or retreading established story.
Enter Amazon, the massive mogul trying to get into the increasingly diverse realm of television. Zombieland is one of eight comedy pilots that premiered concurrently this past Friday, April 19th, for free on their site (along with several kids shows).
