- She is the first Inuit director at the Stratford Festival (Canada), and also the director of Indigenous arts at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
- She is an Inuvialuit, Dene and Cree director, playwright, actor and artist who grew up in Fort Smith, N.W.T., Canada. She earned a degree in acting from the University of Alberta. She was the first Indigenous woman, as well as the first Inuk, to graduate from the program.
