Kate Mara and Nick Robinson enter an illegal relationship in “A Teacher,” an upcoming limited series that will premiere on Hulu in November. FX released the trailer Wednesday morning.
The half-hour limited series, which is an adaptation of Hannah Fidell’s 2013 film of the same name, will premiere Tuesday, November 10 with the first three episodes. New episodes will premiere on Tuesday of each subsequent week. The project, produced by FX Productions, is part of Disney’s FX on Hulu initiative, which brings all FX programming to Hulu and sees select originals premiere on the streaming service rather than the cable channel.
Per FX, “A Teacher” examines the complexities and consequences of the illegal relationship between young high school teacher Claire Wilson (Mara) and student Eric Walker (Robinson). The series’ synopsis reads:

The 10-episode limited series “A Teacher” will premiere this November on FX on Hulu and beginning with its first episode, the show centered on a student-teacher affair will air a content warning about grooming, due to the nature of the subject matter.
“Because the show is about consent and abuse and victimhood and manipulation, it was really important for me that we partner with Rainn, which is the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network,” series creator Hannah Fidell told reporters Wednesday during a virtual panel promoting the Kate Mara and Nick Robinson-led show.
“We’re going to be adding cards to each episode before they air, which will include a viewer discretion warning about grooming,” she added. “And also at the end, point viewers toward resources available to them, with the partnership that we’ve created with Rainn. As a victim of sexual assault myself — although my experience didn’t...

FX on Hulu dropped the trailer for “A Teacher” on Wednesday, a half-hour limited series starring Kate Mara and Nick Robinson as a teacher and student who get wrapped up in a dangerous affair.
In the video, which you can view above, you’ll meet Claire Wilson (Mara) and Eric Walker (Robinson), who at first appear to be a normal, happy couple enjoying a nice date together. But it’s quickly revealed the next day that Claire is actually high-school student Eric’s English teacher. Things only get more twisted up from there, as the secret of their affair isn’t kept for long.
FX Networks said Wednesday that “A Teacher,” created by Hannah Fidell, will premiere its first three episodes on FX on Hulu Nov. 10. The remainder of the 10-episode season will roll out weekly on Tuesdays.
In other scheduling news, FX said Wednesday that the two-episode Season 4 premiere...

[Note: With High Fliers Films re-releasing The Rizen on VOD this week, here’s a reposting of our review from the films original DVD release back in early 2018]
The Rizen is a UK indie-horror film set in a black hallway during the early days of the Cold War in 1955. You can tell this a period piece by the handcrafted, vintage style black walls and black floors. If this movies set design got any darker it would write poetry and start cutting itself.
I had a hard time getting into this film before I even hit the play button. The title is The Rizen. No, not “the risen” as in “the dead has risen” if you’re referencing zombies, or “He has risen” if you’re referencing theological zombies.
