Cecilia Rossiter is an Australian writer, director and producer with Burmese, Irish and Portuguese ancestral roots. The Melbourne-based filmmaker received her hands-on film and TV training at North Metropolitan TAFE in Perth, Western Australia and has since continued her passion for independent filmmaking.
Cecilia has held varied production crew roles, having an Associate Producer credit for the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) short drama, Hospitality (2016), and as an Associate Producer working alongside two other talented producers on Lucky Country (2017), a comedy web series on both YouTube and Ozflix TV. Furthermore, she's contributed to roles within the camera dept, as a 2nd AD and as a Script Supervisor.
Her greatest accomplishment so far has been accepting the award for 'Best Original Screenplay for a Short Film' for Hide & Seek (2012) at Madrid International Film Festival in 2013. Hide & Seek, although inspired by her own story, is not an autobiography. She wrote the screenplay, produced, directed and edited the low-budget short drama.
Passionate about writing and directing her own body of work, Cecilia likes to explore social issues with an empathetic lens, to bring to focus the need for change.
