Meri Collazos Sola began her career as a filmmaker, after graduating from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona with a degree in audiovisual communication. She began directing television episodes for Canal Nord TV, as well as her first films, which she directed utilizing Super8 techniques and found footage. She received a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue an MA in Intercultural Communication at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she worked as a research assistant in the UMBC New Media Department, making films and facilitating Digital Storytelling Workshops. She returned to Spain and worked in film production, applying her storytelling skills to corporate videos. She also primarily specialized in documentary film, working with documentary film director Joan Lopez Lloret. She has also continued her career as a director, and she is currently working on her first long feature documentary, Breathe, mom, which will be released in 2023.
