"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" has hit theaters, and fans like me have been scouring the film to find Easter eggs. Luckily, we don't have to go very far. Though you don't need to know a single them about them, there are plenty on display. The Mushroom Kingdom is bursting with references to the Mario games of yesteryear, especially as Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) takes his new friend Mario (Chris Pratt) to the castle.
Toads (don't ask me to explain the naming conventions ... one of them is called Chanterelle) use golden blocks as sort of an Atm that requires you to smack the block with your head.
