Farris worked with iconic cult horror director Ted V. Mikels when he was eight years old, starring in his unfinished family picture "Chad." The film began production in 1988 but principal photography was never completed. "Chad" was Mikels' attempt at kid-friendly drama after having long established himself as a horror and B-Movie polymath. Elements of this film, which smacked of 1960's Disney, would appear later in Mikels' "Heart of a Boy.".
