The Crystal Maze live immersive experience crowdfunding page launched today.
Artistic Director Tom Lionetti-Maguire came up with the idea over a year ago, and brought in Ben Hodges and Dean Rodgers to develop the project.
"We all felt it was high time this incredible show made a return," Lionetti-Maguire told Digital Spy in an exclusive interview.
"The Crystal Maze was audacious, extravagant, eccentric and full of good old fashioned fun.
"That's why it has endured so lovingly with fans - and that's why we love it too."
He added: "Richard O'Brien and the show's original creator Malcolm Heyworth were the two men responsible for making this the most iconic and popular gameshow in British history.
"We are delighted to announce that they are both joining our team and the project."
