Less than a month after we revealed that CSI: Vegas will be getting a visit from another original series vet later in Season 2, the CBS procedural drama name-dropped said character. The January 5 winter premiere focused on social media influencers, with Chris Park (Jay Lee) one — until this case wrapped, that is. He’d started his account, @ChrisSolves, when he was in the academy, and among the viral videos he’d posted was one about a case from four years earlier; the victim and his friend had been charged with murder. But the forensics didn’t line up with what the Da was saying, as Chris said in his video — and Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda), who’d left the lab before Chris started, DMed him and shared he had the same questions. At the time of that, Lee had no idea that Szmanda would be reprising his role. “I will say...

While Jay Lee was promoted to series regular ahead of CSI: Vegas Season 2, Thursday's episode will be his first centric episode. His character, Chris Park, has a side hustle, which helps the team solve the murder of a social media influencer.
TV Fanatic chatted with Jay about CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 10, his views on social media, and the CSI legacy actors.
Check it out below:
Hi Jay. This is the first CSI: Vegas episode that's centered around Chris. What was that like for you?
Well, it was surreal. When our showrunner Jason Tracey mentioned it to me, I was honored that they wanted to do that. Our writer, Ryan Lee, put this episode together for us. I was nervous because I get the pressure of being there daily, but then I decided not to overthink it.
It ended up being an enjoyable, rewarding experience with our director Allison and our writer Ryan on set,...

Another familiar face is headed back to Sin City.
TV Line reported Thursday that Eric Szmanda has closed a deal to return to the CSI universe on an upcoming episode of CSI: Vegas Season 2.
The actor was a pivotal part of the original series, appearing on all 15 seasons when it aired on CBS.
Despite forging ahead with a largely new cast, CSI: Vegas has had some franchise mainstays to appease fans of the original series.
CSI: Vegas Season 1 had Jorja Fox and William Petersen, but they both decided to depart following the opening season of the reboot.
Petersen had a one-season deal, but there was the hope Fox would continue on as Gil Grissom's love interest Sara Sidle.
Fox felt it would be cruel to split up Gil and Sarah again, so announced after the series had been renewed that she would not be back.

Remember when CSI creator Anthony Zuiker and star Marg Helgenberger shared with us that another original series cast member would be showing up on Vegas this season? Well, now we know who it is. TV Insider has learned that Eric Szmanda is reprising his role as Greg Sanders in CSI: Vegas Episode 217, airing sometime in 2023 and reuniting him with Helgenberger. (Episode 9 of the current season is the fall finale on December 15 and episode 10 will be the winter premiere on January 5.) Szmanda first appeared as Greg in the pilot of the CBS procedural’s original run (2000-2015). He recurred for the first two seasons before being upped to series regular. He was last seen when the original series ended with “Immortality” in 2015. Szmanda’s return comes after we’ve already seen a few stars from CSI in Vegas. William Petersen and Jorja Fox returned as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle, ...

When Eric Szmanda was first cast in “CSI” back in 2000, we had no idea we’d spend the next 15 years getting to see him weekly on television. He played the role of Greg Sanders, and crime scene investigator who did all he could to help his team in the middle of the night. The only CSI series that was filmed as a night-shift team, it was a breakthrough show that led each and every actor and actress on the show to find a place in the hearts of Americans everywhere. We were all excited when it was announced that

Full disclosure: I haven't watched CSI in years, but that didn't mean tonight wasn't a total emotional roller coaster for me. I watched every single episode for the first nine seasons at least, and even stuck around for a couple more after Grissom left (and broke my heart in the process). Even when I stopped watching, the show never really left my brain. I can't hear The Who's Who Are You without singing along for 30 seconds, and that time Nick Stokes (George Eads) was buried alive still haunts me to this day. I know weird things about bugs thanks to this show, and we will never forget the way cute lab tech Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) awakened some previously...

CSI: Miami and CSI: New York are no more, soon we’ll have CSI:Cyber but who would have thought that we would still have CSI: Las Vegas? When reviewing CSI: Complete Season 13 the most noticeable thing is it is a show that survives not only by pure popularity, but that it constantly adapts itself, never letting itself stagnate.
Though this is season thirteen (unlucky for some) I’d say that the big difference came in season twelve with Ted Danson and Elisabeth Shue. My initial surprise really was just how good Ted Danson can act now, but in a way his introduction into CSI brought him back into the shows I take time to watch. With the character of D.B. Russell, Danson moved into CSI: Las Vegas and made the role as head of CSI his own, Laurence Fishburne did well and of course we miss William Petersen as Gil...

Rob Morrow, the non-genius of the crime-fighting sibling duos from Numb3rs, is slated to appear in the initial two episodes of the season. In CSI he’s on the other side of the law, kind of, having been a just released convicted arsonist.

Well, kids, it’s summertime and the weather is beautiful, perfect for staying indoors and rotting your brain. This week, VH1 will be premiering its first spin-off of its successful reality show, Mob Wives. Imaginatively titled Mob Wives Chicago, the show focuses on five Mafia princesses in…uh, Green Bay? The Quad Cities? Somewhere in the Midwest, but it’s not clear exactly where. The Hollywood Reporter seems genuinely concerned that this spin-off will not hold to the same level of quality as the original, where as we are sure it will not only achieve that same level but perhaps even surpass its heights of low-brow culture.
