Moungi Bawendi
He was awarded the 2023 Nobel prize in chemistry for his work with quantum dots, tiny particles a few atoms in diameter. They have applications in electronics, such as LED displays, in cancer surgery, and in solar panels. His co-laureates are Louis Brus and Alexi Ekimov.
