Luke LaBenne is an emerging Michigan filmmaker. A soon to be graduate
of Madonna University's Broadcast and Cinema Arts program - where he
had the privilege of being a part of the multi-award nominated 2011
Capstone Film Class.
Through Capstone, Luke gained a great deal of development, preproduction and on set experience contributing to five projects over the course of one year. Luke is proud to be a part of the Capstone legacy; where students from previous classes continue to support the next generation of student filmmakers.
During the year-long class - Luke wore many hats. He edited the 2012 Student Emmy Award Nominated short film Clayman (2012), was Director of Photography on a 2012 Student Emmy Award Winning commercial for Livonia Italian Bakery and Cafe and most notably Directed a music video "Blame It On You" for The Infatuations, which has received both a 2012 Detroit Music Award and a 2012 Student Emmy Award nomination.
In addition to working with Capstone, Luke has garnered further production experience within the industry as a production assistant on the feature film A Dog for Christmas (2015), the Ovation documentary series Motor City Rising (2012), a commercial for Partners for Torah directed by Oren Goldenberg, a music video for Chaos Rains "My Disease" directed by Brett Wheat and the Christopher Nickin directed music video "The Entrance" for TP & Esco.
Luke recently directed music videos for The Fabulous Miss Wendy and 2012 Detroit Music Award Nominated band Jiva as well as a commercial for Fireball Whiskey.
He is slated to direct music videos for Kid Rock's DJ Paradime and Lungwurm's Jay Fink.
Additionally, Luke is directing his first feature film Finding Henry - a drama about what it means to find yourself within others. Filming begins May 2013 in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
