the fast life at a very young age and found himself placed in a
position upon which he ultimately ended up spending nearly four years
in a correctional facility. A young father and determined to change his
life, BJ decided to pursue his passion for music. He was introduced to
American rapper and music producer Dr. Dre and the two immediately hit
it off. BJ was instrumental in developing some of the concepts that
helped West Coast rap gain its notoriety. BJ became one of the founding
members of Death Row Records and remained with the company for several
years spanning the late 90's to the mid-2000's. After a brief hiatus,
BJ began his most prized endeavor to date which was the launch of The
Cure Entertainment, which has since been renamed The Cure Network, in
addition to working as a consultant for three of the more notable
record labels in the United States. Mr. King sits on the board of
several foundations, one being The Hoop Foundation, which is a
non-profit organization dedicated to the mentorship of Inglewood,
California's at risk youth. Under the umbrella of The Cure Network he
has founded an organization called Mommy's Eyez, which is to aid in the
care and research of those suffering from the eye disease Keratoconus.
A disease upon which his daughter was diagnosed and successfully
treated. The Cure Network has also partnered with the Hero Next Door
program which is dedicated to the care and reward of our countries
wounded ill and injured veterans. In 2011 BJ began his venture into the
television and film industry after discovering, while in the music
industry, that he had an uncanny knack for storytelling and an
unsurpassed vision for movies and films. His first debut is a short
feature film entitled "Pull", which is subsequently a true story and
tells the tale of BJ's very own son. The story takes place in Los
Angeles and chronicles the life events of a veteran, who was well
connected, respected and loved within his community, and his son who is
being kept alive by the "Pull" of his father after being falsely
accused of a crime he did not commit. BJ believes that it is his
responsibility to tell the stories that others have not told. He plans
to marry the film and music industry and produce new talent while
inspiring others to realize that success and all of the things they
desire are not out of reach. BJ King intends to leave a huge legacy,
solidify his place as a filmmaker and fulfill his life's purpose by
blazing through uncharted territories.
