Narcisso Flores-Bassinger
- Additional Crew
Narcisso was born in New York City, and his family moved to Florida when he was still a young child. The family is originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, nicknamed "La Perla del Sur" (The Pearl of the South). Narcisso later moved to Puerto Rico on his own when he was just a bit older as a sort of pilgrimage to pursue his early academic and spiritual endeavors. He led a generally nomadic life, typically staying with friends and relatives. Narcisso eventually returned to New York City where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at NYU. He was invited back as a keynote speaker much later when he completed his doctorate at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Narcisso's studies focused on expressive arts, thanatology, and world spirituality along with his clinical training in psychology. Though he credits "The Village" for much of his creative pursuits, what he considers his true coming of age, he says his true passion for healing comes from nature, watching things grow, interacting with folks throughout his travels and particular home locations, his love of animals, and creating stuff with his own hands. Narcisso retired as a field-based clinical psychologist for LA County in 2014 to focus both on his creative interests as well as his own consulting practice for personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
