François Morisset is a French producer and sales agent based in Berlin and Paris.
Over the last ten years, he has worked simultaneously for several feature film distribution and sales companies whilst leading his short-film company Salaud Morisset.
His main experience in feature films has been with the German distribution company DCM Film Distribution, where he started in acquisitions in 2012 ultimately becoming head of finance and part of the DCM's managing board, taking an active role in the acquisition and distribution of titles such as MOONLIGHT, I, TONYA and CAROL.
François created Salaud Morisset in 2007 starting as a one man company and growing into one of the most prestigious and biggest short-film companies in the world. Recently, Salaud Morisset has distributed some hugely successful titles including Ladj Ly's debut short-film LES MISERABLES and Guy Nattiv's short-film SKIN which Salaud Morisset led to win at the Oscars ® 2019. In recent years, François has been proud to represent titles by Yorgos Lanthimos, Jonathon Glazer and Elvira Lind whose film, THE LETTER ROOM starring Oscar Isaac and Alia Shawkat was nominated for an Oscar ®.
As a producer, his credits include BONOBO by Zoel Aeschbacher - which received gold at the 2019 Student Academy Awards (Oscar ®), following a remarkable festival career (180 selections, 30 prizes) - the multi-awarded SACRILEGE by Christophe M. Saber, WITNESS, directed by Academy member Ali Asgari or TRUMPETS IN THE SKY directed by Rakan Mayasi which will premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in 2021.
François is a regular speaker in Cannes, TIFF, Palm Spring, SXSW and was recently invited to be part of the jury at Winterthur and Zurich Foundation Awards. He also gives short films workshops at La Fémis, DFFB, New York University. In addition, he is part of the T-Port Advisory board, was in the board of the Atelier Ludwigsburg Paris' Network.
Since 2021, François Morisset is a member of the AMPAS.
